One perk of growing up in a small town is unfettered access to stargazing. City lights cannot smother the sky with an “orange barf glow” (to borrow a phrase Lisa Simpson used to describe light pollution in an episode of The Simpsons). You’re able to witness the moon, planets, and stars in all their glory.
Stars acted as guides for ancient explorers crossing land and sea. They unlock the imagination and inspire journeys into the unknown. If you think about the influence stars have had on the development of our history and culture, our future is literally written among those distant luminous orbs.
These thoughts inspired a new poem. Enjoy!
Ancient stars sing to me an enchanting siren's song. Telling stories of worlds uncharted and unseen. Unfathomable distances block paths to discovery. What lies beneath alien skies, forever shrouded in mystery. A puzzle begging to be solved. A riddle vexing my mind. Undying curiosity fuels my soul, guiding my heart and my feet. Why choose the beaten path if secrets lurk down another road? Exploration infuses my DNA. Life's questions demand answers. From scaling towering peaks to plunging into bottomless oceans. Every life-changing journey requires embracing uncertainty. Ancient stars speak to me, recounting legends and lore. Acting as immortal guides Through vast endless space.
Love your perspective on stars. So much mystery and intrigue. If only we had more answers about what’s out there in the universe.
