Building a fun interactive community of readers is important to me. I launched my Strange New Worlds newsletter back in August 2021 because I wanted to connect with fans of my stories on a more personal level. Witnessing this newsletter’s growth over the past two years has proved inspiring toward my efforts to turn writing fiction into my full-time career.
Now, with the launch of Substack Notes, I have a fun new avenue to forge a deeper connection with you and other readers of this newsletter.
I published my first note on Substack Notes earlier this week and would love for you to join me there!
Notes is a new space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. In other words, a place to have conversations. I plan to use Notes for anything that doesn’t quite fit into my usual newsletters. This can include sharing scenes and dialogue from stories-in-progress, fun photos, writing prompts, and thoughts on random writing-related topics. I will also use notes as a forum for posing questions and conducting reader polls.
Creating these notes will offer a blank canvas to paint new pictures. I’m excited to see where this new path goes.
How to join
Head over to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Strange New Worlds, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share those notes with others!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this turns into a fun space where every reader of Strange New Worlds can express thoughts, share ideas, and post interesting quotes from things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you out there!
Hollow Planet update
I have some exciting news pertaining to my brand-new short story. You can now buy the paperback edition of Hollow Planet at Barnes and Noble and Walmart. This offers alternatives for anyone who likes getting books from somewhere besides Amazon.
