Ever since I veered away from traditional publishing and forged an independent path as an author, I’ve had a greater vision than simply selling my books on Amazon. One long-term goal has been to create an independent press. This is not simply an avenue to publish my stories. My indie press would also offer fellow indie authors a chance to tell their stories.
I have taken a major step forward in realizing that goal.
Today the official Samak Press website goes live.
Going forward, it will function as a central hub for all of my published stories. This will include multiple exclusive stories not available on Amazon or any other book retailer. I also plan to offer merchandise such as Samak Press shirts, hats, and bookmarks once I’ve finished ironing out logistics related to production and shipping.
Samak Press will also serve the indie author community in multiple ways.
Author Services: I will offer author services ranging from developmental editing to proofreading at affordable professional rates. I possess two decades of experience as a professional journalist, writer, and editor, so I can lend valuable insight and a unique perspective during the story development process.
Anthologies: Starting in 2025, I plan to publish two yearly anthologies through Samak Press. One will focus on science fiction. The other will center on horror. I plan to post detailed submission guidelines for the first two anthologies soon. These anthologies will be open to new, emerging, and established authors alike. I want to shine a light on fresh stories that are unique from what you find in other magazines and anthologies.
Publishing imprint: I plan to expand Samak Press as a publishing imprint to include stories from other authors besides myself. It will focus on assorted genres and subgenres under the speculative fiction umbrella. Separate submissions guidelines for single author novels and short story collections will be added to the website at a later date.
This an exciting milestone in my writing and publishing career and I’m thrilled to celebrate my website launch and expansion of my publishing imprint with the loyal readers of this newsletter. If you have any questions that I didn’t cover, feel free to comment below or email me directly.
Bookmark the Samak Press website and keep your eyes peeled for more news down the road.
