I love seeing the spirit of generosity that permeates the holiday season. So many good people throughout the world focus their hearts and minds to helping others in need during this time of year. Seeing acts of kindness helps restore some faith in humanity when the 24-hour news cycle threatens to extinguish it forever.
I want to do my part to help during the holidays. That’s why I’m excited to unveil what I hope I can turn into an annual initiative.
December 1st marks the beginning of my Samak Press Gives Back charitable drive.
A Good Cause
Narrowing down a charitable cause to support during the holiday season proved difficult because there are so many worthy causes. In the end, I followed my heart and decided to help animals in need.
With my Samak Press Gives Back initiative, I plan to donate a portion of my earnings from my fiction writing through the entire month of December to the Best Friends Animal Society — an awesome charity dedicated to helping homeless pets find their forever homes.
Anyone who knows me knows I love animals. They bring joy into my life and brighten an otherwise dark world. Animals are treasured friends and companions on life’s journey. These wonderful creatures need to be loved as much as they show love to us. Every animal deserves to feel safe and happy. It is a tragedy to see innocent cats and dogs go hungry, be homeless, and suffer abuse at the hands of evil humans.
Supporting the Best Friends Animal Society is a natural outgrowth of my lifelong efforts to help homeless animals. Chloe, the cute tabby cat who serves as the official mascot for the Strange New Worlds newsletter, was a homeless kitten left to die trapped inside a woodpile when I found her and rescued her. My dad adopted little Chloe and she has been a treasured pet and friend for nine years now.
Spreading the Word
My planned donation will encompass 50% of all my net earnings in December. I want to make a meaningful difference for animals in need rather than a token donation.
Funds for the donation will be drawn from:
net royalties from all December sales of my published stories in ebook, paperback, hardcover, and audiobook formats.
net revenue from new paid subscriptions to my Strange New Worlds or The Indie Life newsletters.
net revenue from new paid subscriptions to my official Patreon account.
I invite readers of this newsletter to join me in spreading the word concerning this Samak Press Gives Back initiative. I cannot make the impact I hope to make for our animal friends this holiday season without your assistance. Please tell your family, friends, neighbors, and your social media connections about this initative. Suggest they purchase one or more of my books as a holiday gift. Encourage them to sign up for a paid newsletter or Patreon subscription. Every little bit will make a difference.
My official author website has complete descriptions and up-to-date purchase links for all novels and short fiction I’ve published under the Samak Press imprint.
Additionally, you can find purchase links for all my published books on my Amazon author page, Bookbub author page, my Samak Press Bookshop on Bookshop.org, and my direct Samak Press store through Payhip.
My hope is that I can make a difference in saving the lives of many animals during this holiday season. I appreciate you joining me on this journey and supporting this cause.
God bless you all. Happy Holidays!
Wonderful cause! I remember when you sent out your short story about alien cats you said all the names of the cats in the story were those of cats your family had had. 💕❤️💕 I hope you do well with December sales!
