I have created tons and tons of pages filled with notes on characters, history, technology, and other relevant topics for each fictional world I created in my sci-fi stories. It will be fun to roll all of it out eventually.
Thanks! One day, I hope to hire an illustrator and create graphic novel versions of my novels. My conceptual art can serve as a reference point for their illustrations.
i loved playing with Ai image generator... i have about 400 images created on Dream where the prompts were often to do with horrible people from history meeting graphic and undignified punishments, shall we say. some of these are amazing. i also loved some of the art it produced for some of my stories on substack... check out god of the wild however and you can see where the generator got its idea for rubrum from the same place maybe???
recently i have been persauded by ecological arguments over the unfettered use of AI and the power consumption it requires. i have DMOR on this and i beleive there is some concensus over the demand for energy and resources that AI involves and over which we have had NO say at all as tech companies just impregnate it into everything. im not against AI at all, im just against using it everywhere without careful thought about the consequences for the planet when last year has proven to be a year when yet again we have broken hottest record net global average temperature AND record levels of CO2 emmission. 1.5° is now impossible. California is on fire. towns are being washed away.
having said this some of the art you made is great of course. I love illustrating my stories too but i have decided to
use duck duck go as a search engine because google automatically uses AI now, and also to search for existing photos and images and to use those instead of generating AI images. probably pissing in the wind but still i feel its another small thing i can do.
All conceptual art I've shared in my newsletters is used exclusively for my own personal reference/amusement. I do not include AI in any stories I publish in any way, shape, or form. You will never see one of these images showing up in the pages of my novels. If I wanted to do an illustrated edition of any novel, or a graphic novel version, I would hire a professional illustrator to do original images. My book covers are human made. My stories are human written. Always have been, always will be.
A good character bible is essential for every sci-fi and fantasy.

I think you're very talented!
Thank you! :)
Love the look of the creatures and people, etc. If you can see it in your mind, you can create it on paper. Kudos!
Thanks! My personal favorites are the alien animals. I love creating new and unusual species to include in stories.
Love these. Give a good idea of the creatures and characters. Nice

I think you intended to comment on a different article. Perhaps in the Macabre Monday newsletter?

I totally get what you were saying. My response is meant to clarify my position on AI usage for anyone scrolling through the comments.
