From my desk here at the Strange New Worlds newsletter, I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope the year ahead will be prosperous and happy for each of you. Thank you for your continued support of this newsletter!
I wanted to use this this end-of-year newsletter to highlight my favorite original stories I published in 2023. This is your chance to catch up on anything you’ve missed. I linked each selection below, so feel free to bookmark this page for a handy reference.
Happy reading!

From July to October, I posted my newest horror novella in 11 weekly episodes for my paid subscribers. Snow Dragon chronicles an ancient monster unleashing havoc on a small Colorado town following a major earthquake.

The Suff
I dived into a collaborative community project in November and December to build an urban legend from scratch. Our efforts resulted in a collection of stories and poems centered on the Suff — an omnipresent and omniscient malevolent being who can warp space and time while devouring unfortunate souls.

I introduced many new science fiction stories and characters in 2023. In April, I published Hollow Planet, a sci-fi novella chronicling astronauts who find a startling secret connected to ancient alien race on a seemingly barren planet.
Here at Strange New Worlds, I also wrote a handful of exclusive new stories.
Venus Cloud Divers Club centers on Sam preparing to participate his first dive from Adonis City as a means for finding closure from a personal tragedy.
Backyard Alien chronicles first contact between Seth and an alien feline.
Rescuing Brownie follows Tyler as he travels back in time to save a beloved childhood pet who vanished when he was 12 years old.
Day One and Day Two are AP-style articles reporting on the aftermath of an alien attack on four major US cities.

Horror Stories
In addition to publishing Snow Dragon, I penned a handful of shorter new horror stories exclusive to Strange New Worlds.
Beneath a Darkened Reef follows Kaia as she makes contact with a previously unknown intelligent species on an exploratory ocean dive.
The Job Interview centers on Chris who arrives at a job interview to find all traces of the company and its employees have seemingly vanished from existence.
Instant Messages From the Universe centers on Ben receiving increasingly menacing text messages from an entity identifying itself as the Universe while arriving home to his townhouse.
